Don't Choose Death

The COVID vaccines, available in the United States, are effective and stand up well for preventing hospitalization and death from the new virus strains like Delta. Plus, they are free to receive. We don’t have to pay for them!

Most COVID patients currently in hospitals are unvaccinated and infected with Delta—a strain more transmissible (spreads among people easier than the original virus version) that causes increased severe illness. So, again, people are suffering and dying needlessly. It’s tragic.

There are so many inaccurate or just plain ridiculously wrong statements about the vaccines on social media. Why are people believing them? Why? Anyone can write a post regardless of their knowledge or lack of knowledge about the subject.

The fight against COVID is being politicized. I am furious at politicians who push the untruths about this disease and its prevention, thinking this tactic will keep them in office. That detrimentally affects our health, and these politicians do not care.

People, primarily conservatives but they're not the only ones, choose not to get vaccinated because of this message, and they are dying. Just two little shots in the arm, or one if it’s Johnson and Johnson, can prevent deadly illness. No one seems to recall Trump got immunized against COVID-19 as soon as he could.

There was cheering at the recent CPAC convention for not reaching Joe Biden’s goal of having 70% of the people in our country vaccinated by July 4th. Pardon my language, but what is wrong with those attendees?

How much do you want to bet that politicians and right wing media people cheerleading for not getting COVID vaccines are vaccinated themselves? I bet all of them. But, of course, they’ll never admit they are because they don’t want to lose the donations, votes, and TV ratings of those believing the lies.

Stop allowing people who care nothing about your welfare to put your lives in danger.

I am fully vaccinated and will still gladly wear a mask and roll up my sleeve for a booster if medical science thinks it’s necessary.
