How Many Words?
New writers may wonder how many words, on average, should be in a work. It depends on what your writing is geared to. Are you creating a short story, aiming for a book, or something in between?
I’ve come across a wonderful e-zine where I found information on this topic and much more. It's Fiction Factor http://fictionfactor.com/ created by Lee Masterson. Lee is a freelance writer from South Australia and has extensive experience in the world of authorship.
I’d like to share some of the insights from her article “Word Counts for Fiction: How Long Should Your Story Be?” http://fictionfactor.com/articles/word-counts-for-fiction-how-long-should-your-story-be/. Be sure to read the full article for Lee’s description of the different types of fiction and word counts for e-books too.
